How do great ideas start?
Do they start by accident?
Do they start by trial and error?
Or are ideas and inventions getting started by necessity?
Do people just keep inventing and inventing, until they have a great idea, like James Dyson or Alexander Graham Bell?
What about inventors like Antonio Meucci?
I bet thet you haven’t heard of him before?
It is said that he invented the first telephone in Italy in 1854.
Alexander Graham Bell patented his telephone in 1876 and got all the credit.
Meucci did all the work and Bell got his paperwork done.
That is a lesson for you school kids who think it doesn’t matter if I finish my homework on time.
In 2002 the US Congress formally recognized Antonio Meucci as the true inventor of the telephone.
I digress.
People say I have a great idea.
Isn’t that implied?
If they didn’t think it was a great idea, they wouldn’t say it.
Speaking of great ideas.
.
I have a great idea.
I discovered it more by accident than by trial and error or necessity.
Like all other great ideas, it took some effort and some planning and some patience.
I had to wait for the right moment.
I had to wait until Mom got her morning coffee.
I had to wait until my baby brother Joseph needed his diaper changed.
Joseph probably will want some financial compensation for his small role in the invention.
I had to have time to run to the bathroom and get my toothbrush of the counter.
All before, Mom and Joseph got back to the living room.
Timing is everything.
Then it happened.
I TESTED MY GREAT IDEA.
It was a success.
I shouldn’t tell you what it was, because someone else will probably patent it, and I will end up like Antonio Meucci.
My idea if you must know.
COFFEE FLAVOURED TOOTHPASTE.

I stuck my toothbrush into my Mom’s coffee and stirred it and then I brushed my teeth with it.
Most people like coffee, and most people brush their teeth.
Now you can save a step.
Brilliant, don’t you think?
That is my best idea so far.
I am the kind of kid that will have more ideas,
not all of them will be this good.
Some might be better.
Let me know in the comments when you had a great idea.
Remember to subscribe to my Blog so that you don’t miss out on any of my upcoming adventures. My brother Joseph will be tagging along on most of them now.
