They said, “Go Fly a Kite!”
So, we did.

And so did other famous people before us.
.
In 1762.
Do you think someone told Benjamin Franklin, “To Go Fly a Kite.”
So that he could prove that lightning is electricity.
.
No, he did that on his own.
.
What about Homan Walsh?
.
Do you think someone told Homan, “To Go Fly a Kite?”
In fact, in 1847, someone did tell Homan, “To Go Fly a Kite.”
Actually, Homan Walsh won the contest, by being the first to fly a kite across the Niagara Falls.
He won $5.
With that feat, the initial cable to build the suspension bridge was in place.
The suspension bridge over Niagara Falls was the first working railway Suspension bridge in the world.
.
Thanks to flying a kite.
.
Who could forget about George Banks in Mary Poppins?
.
Did you know the song “Let’s Go Fly a Kite” originally titled Sticks, Paper and String?
.
Flying a kite solved all of the family’s problems.
Almost.
.
Do you know how many Newtons of force a kite like mine has?
I don’t.
.
Do you know how many Newtons of force it takes to pull a young boy like me backwards?
I don’t.
.
I do know from experience that a kite the same size as mine can pull a boy the same size as me right over.
The number doesn’t really matter.
.
Joseph was so excited about the kite that he turned 8 months old.

.
He also went on a swing for the very first time.

He is such a keener.
.
Do you think he is trying to be, “A One Upper?”
.
I might go into Marketing when I get older.
.
Grandpa has a “funky hat.”
.
Those are my Mom’s words not mine.
It was cool out that day.
.
I decided that maybe I should wear Grandpa’s hat.
Mom was right.
Grandpa does have a funky hat.

It is a Bigalli hat. A Bigalli Escapade.
Bigalli makes great hats.
.
I am sure Grandpa and Grandma both have several Bigalli hats.
.
Here is my ad campaign for Bigalli Hats.
.
Bigalli,
It’s your hat, wear it your way.
.
I am open to financial compensation for such a great slogan.
Benardo, we should talk.
.
Do you have a funky hat?
or,
Do you have a kite story?
Let me know in the comments.
