DRILLING FOR TREASURE
We had a Momentum watch, our Bugeye mini compass, and a map.

.
I think that I am being tricked into doing geometry when I am using my compass.
.
That doesn’t matter now.
.
We found what we were looking for.
.
We had been on the trail for some time.
.
There are several stories about the missing gold,
but they all have one thing in common.
.
There is missing gold.
.
And a lot of it.
.
It was 1870.
.
Maybe Mr. Lawson stole it in England and brought it to Manitoba.
It is said that he buried a barrel of gold every night along the Dawson Trail so that no one would find it if he was caught.
.
And he was caught.
.
Or.
.
Soldiers threw the bags of gold off their horses while being chased, so that the horses could run faster and out run the pursuers.
.
It doesn’t matter which story you want to believe.
.
It was $10,000. worth of gold.
Now that gold is worth 1 million dollars.
.
And we have found it!
.
We took our post hole auger and started to dig.

And dig.
.
And dig.
.
Then we stopped.
.
It turned out I was tricked, into working, thinking there was buried treasure.
.
There was no buried treasure.
.
We were just putting in a post for an electrical plug so that the cord for plugging in the car doesn’t have to go across the front sidewalk.
.
Now nobody will trip on the cord, on the cold winter nights that dad’s car needs to be plugged in.
.
That seems almost as good as finding the treasure.
.
Almost.
.
It doesn’t matter if you are looking for gold or putting in a post.
.
Things have to be on the level.
.
That was my job.

To keep things on the level.
.
Every job needs supervisors.
.
That is what the supervisors will tell you.
.
It was up to Grandma and Joseph to supervise this job.

One day I might be a supervisor.
.
Just not today.
.
Have you ever had to keep things on the level?
.
Let me know in the comments.
