When you do a job, do you make a plan?  .

The What? 

The When? 

The Where? 

The How? 

Do you think about how much material you will need? 

.

It is all part of the plan. 

.

I like to know if I have what I need to finish the job. 

.

Whether you are moving a piano down the stairs, putting in a door, or doing a job like I am doing, you should have a plan. 

A planner plans and a pantser flies by the seat of his or her pants. 

.

I am a planner, and Joseph is a pantser. (this isn’t my word), I stole it from my writing

coach. 

.

I plan jobs and, 

Joseph does jobs, 

.

in   his   pants. 

.

Joseph thinks that he is some sort of big boy now. 

He is more than 6 months old, and he needed to get his vaccinations. 

.

I remember,” back in the day,” when I got my six month vaccinations. 

I had to go home and split firewood for the wood stove. 

Or something similar,

 it is hard for me to remember so far back in time. 

.

How old do you have to be to say, “Back in the Day”? 

.

I didn’t have to have Grandma hold me because she thought that I needed to be held. 

Joseph was fine after his shots, so we just laid around on the couch. 

.

There was an annoying squirrel in the trees. 

.

I told him a story about how to catch a squirrel. 

.

Do you know how to catch a squirrel? 

.

I will share this story. 

.

If you have an annoying squirrel in the trees around your house, you can just catch it. 

You dig a hole at the base of a tree, the hole should be about the same size as the squirrel you are trying to catch. 

Fill the hole with some dried twigs and branches and make fire. 

Let the fire burn down to coals. 

Put peanut butter around the hole. 

.

Hide behind the tree where the hole is and when the squirrel comes and eats the peanut butter, kick him in the hole where the ashes are. 

.

Do you need to read that part again?

Have you ever thought about the importance of nice pajamas? 

.

I hadn’t until recently. 

I recently got a pair of really nice pajamas. 

These pajamas make me want to go to bed and go to bed fast. 

.

Now that I think about it, maybe they are better for my parents.  

.

I don’t know why they would want me to go to bed early. 

I only get up earlier. 

.

Last night, for instance. 

Joseph only got up once every hour all night.

. 

I try to be a helper.  

.

This morning I got up at 5 am and went to Mom and Dad’s bed to wrestle with Dad until he had to get up. 

.

Doesn’t that sound like something a helpful kid would do? 

.
