Have you ever been there?

Not many people have been there.

Are you thinking about the Eiffel Tour?

The Louvre? 

.

Big Ben? 

.

Neuschwanstein Castle? 

.

It isn’t one of those places. 

.

This week my friends and I, along with our Moms went to a famous place right here in Manitoba. 

.

The Blumenort Splash Park. 

It is quite famous. 

It is quite famous, among the people of Hanover anyway. 

It is a very nice place for families and especially for children my age. 

.

I walked around for a bit and then it was just as interesting to me to find out how these type of machines really work. 

.

Do you think that you can use water and gears to make electricity? 

.

Maybe someday. 

.

Speaking of gears and parts. 

Does anyone have a working fan in their bedroom? 

.

Joseph and I do. 

.

Or, we did? 

.

Early one morning we noticed that our bedroom fan just wasn’t working. 

I did what every responsible child would do to help their parents. 

I tried to fix it. 

I carefully took the fan apart and laid out the pieces. 

.

Did I mention this was 5:30 am? 

.

Shouldn’t everyone be up working at 5:30 am? 

.

I was having the same problem that many other people have had before me when they are fixing things. 

.

I had parts left over. 

.

What do you do with leftover parts? 

.

You hid them in the Livingroom. 

.

I put some parts under the chair and some parts under the couch. 

I even put some parts on the dining room table. 

.

Can you believe after all this early morning work.

. 

The fan still didn’t work. 

.

Last Sunday there was another project that we did. 

.

We put together a water table. 

.

As usual, Joseph thought he would supervise and that I should do the actual work. 

We finally got it all together. 

.

Are instructions really that important? 

.

Apparently, they are. 

.

Who knew? 

.

The water table is together now and working fine. 

.

While all this was going on, Dad was busy trying to patch a few holes in the pool and mom was looking after Joseph. 

.

Grandma was busy looking after ALL of us. 

.

Joseph thinks that he is supervising but he is just sleeping and eating, and doing the other thing that babies do. 

Grandpa doesn’t like to have his picture taken from above. 

He says that it makes his forehead look longer than it is. 

.

What do you think about a clean car? 

.

I heard that a clean car is a happy car? 

.

I think a clean car is a happy car or maybe a happy driver. 

.

I can’t drive the car yet, but a clean car must make a happier passenger. 

.

I thought I had better wash Mom’s car. 

.

A clean car is a happy car.  

But is Grandpa just as happy? 

.

After all, you have to do these jobs early in the morning. 

.

I think 7 am is the best time to wash a car. 

.

Grandpa says that I have probably done more work so far in my life than some of the neighbourhood teenagers have. 

.
