THE MARSHMALLOW EXPERIMENT and OTHER STORIES.
.
Have you heard of the marshmallow experiment?
It was an experiment in the 1960s and 1970s to test preschool children about instant gratification.
It has largely been debunked now with other factors that weren’t considered back then.
My parents did a similar thing to me.
I had to do a certain thing so many times, each time I did it, I would get to put a sticker on the chart.
When the chart was full of stickers, I got to pick a prize.

I won’t tell you what the job was, but if I got to a certain place and did a certain thing.
I got a sticker.
I got a sticker if the floor stayed clean and dry while I was doing my job.
You might be able to guess what my job was.
When the chart was full, I got a reward.
I now have a trusty dog to go on adventures with me along with my trusty horse Thunder.

You will remember Thunder from my El Senor JJ Episode.
.
A horse and a dog and a brother.
.
What more would I need?
.
Number 95, Lightning McQueen.
.
I am glad I waited until the chart was full before I got my prize.
.
We did something fun as a family this week, with other families as well.
.
Do you know how to read a treasure map?
.
Neither do my parents or the rest of their group.
.
It was not as if they were driving through Poland in the 1990’s and drove by the same house 3 times before they realized that they were lost. And very few people spoke English, which is fine.
Unless you are lost.
.
Like certain grandparents, I know.
.
We were at a corn maze.
.
Yes, a corn maze.
.
Not to be confused with maize.
.
A corn maize. That is catching though, don’t you think?
.
.A few trails in a small field of corn.
It was a good job that my Mom’s old school friend was working at the maze and was able to help them find their final check point.
.
You never know when you will see your old school friends.
.
Thanks, Laldin.
.
Dad and I were able to climb the hill of champions.

Mom and Joseph celebrated by walking around.
Mom walked for both of them.

After the fun there is always work.
.
Joseph and I had to paint our bedroom.
.
It is our room we should paint it.
.
That is what we were told.
.
It didn’t work out that way.
.
Joseph was celebrating his 7 month birthday so he couldn’t paint.
I was busy bringing my stuffies to the bed where they would be safe, from paint sharks and other creatures.

Grandpa painted and Grandma helped looked after Joseph and me, mostly Joseph.
.
I am a big boy now, so I am independentish.
That is almost a real word.
.
That is all for this time.
.
Do you remember a time when you got lost? or you had to save your stuffies from paint sharks?
.
Let me know in the comments.
