LETTUCE CELEBRATE
.
Joseph turned 3 months old this week.
My parents thought we should celebrate.
.
Some people would have said,
“We should celebrate.”
.
Some people would have said,
“Let’s celebrate.”
.
Not my parents.
.
They said.
“Let Us Celebrate.”
.
That is quite formal, it must be because of my English heritage.
.
That isn’t what they said.
They said,” LETTUCE CELEBRATE.”

.
I think it is part of their long-term plan.
.
A plan to associate vegetables with celebrations and parties.
“Joseph, Jeffrey, would you like ice cream for the party,
or
Carrots and cucumbers?”
“Carrots and cucumbers, please Mom.”
.
What a likely story.
.
Where, I like having vegetables is, at a picnic.
A picnic in the park, a picnic by the pool.
Or,
A picnic by the pool on the deck.

.
With the gate locked, of course.
.
Do you remember my incident with the deck stairs?
That is why the gate is locked now.
.
Do you remember your parents saying,
“I hope he will walk soon, I wonder when she will start to walk?
.
Be careful of what you wish for.
.
Joseph doesn’t walk yet, he is almost rolling over.
.
It is a different story for me.
I counted my steps the other day.
I took a million billion steps.
If you are reading this and haven’t learned to count yet,
a million billion steps are a lot of steps.
.
Most of those steps are in circles.
.
Adults don’t know that you don’t need to walk in a straight line to get somewhere.
You can walk in circles and circles and circles and still get to the same place.
.
That’s how us kids get from place to place.
.
How do you get from place to place?
.
Do walk in a straight line?
.
Let me know in the comments.
