That was close.

We almost didn’t make it.

Do you know what it is like to be the last ones on?

Have you ever had to run, and I mean really run from your arriving plane to your departing plane?

That was us.

But we made it, the last ones on,

are still on.

What a start to our vacation.

We had 8 hours to rest and relax before we arrived at our destination.

We arrived the next morning and all was well.

There was even a man with a sign waiting for us when we walked out of the airport.

That was nice.

Now when I see that on a movie I will always remember coming out of the Paris Airport.

Our room was ready but there was no sleep to be had.

Off we went to explore this beautiful city,

Paris, “the City of Love”.

The Sacre Couer Basilica was our first stop, and it is stunning.

Even the walk from our hotel to the Sacre Couer was amazing.

The Sacre Couer.

A Champagne cruise on the Seine,

The Tour Eiffel.

The Louvre, or for a short time it was named by Napoleon “Musee Napoleon”

to see Napoleon’s apartment and of course,

 the famous Mona Lisa.

The Mona Lisa wasn’t really famous until it was stolen from the Louvre in 1911.

That is another story.

Disney Paris, which isn’t located in Paris but in Marne-la-Vallee 32 km east of Paris.

It’s a Small World After All, in English or French, still haunts me.

And what is a vacation if you don’t get lost,

just a little bit?

What was really cool was when the riders from the Tour de France race went zooming past us while we were eating lunch at a sidewalk cafe.

Now that is cool.

For a seasoned traveler like me time change isn’t an issue.

I got up every day around the same time and went to bed around the same time.

You see I wasn’t able to go on this trip because it was my parents Honeymoon.

These were the things they did.

I stayed back and got to visit my Grandparents for a week or so.

It might have seemed longer to them.

I visited most of their neigbours, passed on Day Care germs, looked at bears and drove a sports car.

I will tell you about my adventures next time.
