What are we waiting for?
What is all this talk about when it will arrive?
.
My friend and I had to turn around and look for it.
We didn’t know what we were looking for, but we thought we should look anyway.

We were just listening to the adults talk.
.
Will it be here soon?
.
Any day now.
.
What about you?
.
It should be any time for me as well.
.
We have our bags packed by the door and we are ready to go.
Those were our Moms words over lunch.
.
Why are they having a spicy lunch?
.
What are they hoping to rush along?
.
Are we going on a holiday?
.
My friend and I have so many questions.
We keep our questions to ourselves because that is what kids that don’t talk much do.
Maybe it is what adults that don’t talk much do as well?
.
Whatever they were waiting for almost came Sunday night and my Grandparents rushed over around midnight.
It was a false alarm for my Mom and my parents were home by 1 and my Grandparents went home.
In fact, I didn’t even know that they had come and gone.
Those older people are sneaky.
.
My friend’s parents went just about the same time as mine but to a different hospital.
I guess the hospital that they visited gives out prizes because now the wait is over at their house.
.
I gave it away.
.
A Baby.
.
That’s what our parents are waiting for.
Now I am sure that a baby won’t be coming into the restaurant, but that has happened before.
.
It is Thursday night now and I am going to bed.
There has been no big action.
.
So, my parents just wait and wait and wait.
.
Will the baby come soon?
.
I hope so, my Dad hopes so, my Grandparents hope so.
.
No one hopes so as much as my Mom.
My Mom’s birthday is on Sunday, and no one likes to share their birthday.
I see her point, then there will always be only one cake.
.
I hope it comes in the next couple of days.
.
There is a storm in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow so maybe we will have to wait until Sunday.
.
Those types of events are out of our control.
.
What is something that you remember waiting for?
.
Let me know in the comments.
