Last week, you may remember that I just got my custom kitchen and I was on my way to becoming a world famous chef.
I have been practicing cooking and baking in my kitchen several times since then.
I still may become a world class chef but now I have discovered something new.

I have said it before, and I will say it again.
At my age, almost everything is something new.
.
I wonder,
how long this excitement last?
.
This week I tried something new.
Something that I enjoyed.
.
I tried being a heavy duty tractor mechanic.
It was harder than I thought it would be, but I worked at it and I finally got it running again.
Getting a tractor to run is a big, big job.
Tractors can have different engines in them, John Deere engines, Perkins engines, Deutz engines, Yanmar engines.
These big tractor engines usually have one thing in common.
They run on diesel fuel.
.
My tractor is much more advanced.
It has an electric motor.
.
I know that some brands have come out with smaller electric tractors now, but
this tractor that I am working on was my mom’s when she was young.
.
It was ahead of its time and now I have to fix it.
Now, a tractor EV battery lifespan is up to 15 years.
The batteries in this tractor are almost 20 years old, and it is up to me to replace them.
.
That is a big job when you only have a small Phillips screwdriver, and you have to totally remove the cab to change them.
It is no wonder that it costs thousands of dollars to work on a tractor.
.
I won’t send my parents a bill,
this time.
.
So far, they have bought most of my food and most of my clothes.
I also plan to live with them in their house for the next 30 or 40 years.
.
I finally got it fixed.
Three AA batteries later and a little sweat equity, and that tractor was up and running as good as new.
.
