MOVING AND A TAPE MEASURE. EPISODE68

I know.

Yes, I know.

I am late writing this, I have been very busy.

I have been helping Mom and Dad move.

We are now living in a new house in a new town.

It seems good so far.

We met the new neighbours, they seem nice.

My parents had so much help from their friends that I didn’t have to carry very many things so that was very much appreciated.

Of course, that just meant that I had to do other jobs instead.

They were also able to use a trailer from the funeral home to move their stuff.

That was also really great.

Thanks so much to all the people that helped us move.

You should know that the trailer door opening is just a little bit lower than some of the movers, and one guy hit his head moving boxes in,

and the same guy hit his head, moving boxes out of the trailer.

If you look close at the picture, you might be able to figure out who that was.

Now the hard part.

Organizing.

Mom and Dad have to find a place for everything.

That isn’t my job,

I will just be organizing my room.

I helped Grandpa install some shelves in the closet.

We also installed a child gate on the top of the stairs.

There was some discussion about measuring for both these jobs.

I think this measuring stuff is just a tricky way for me to learn to count and do math.

I’m not going to fall for that trick.

I just have to know how much longer the gate is than the stair opening and make it even at both sides.

It looks like the gate is 8.5 inches wider, so we will divide that in half.

You want to make it look good.

You know the saying, “Measure once, cut two or three times.”

Or is it measure twice and cut once?

I always get that one mixed up.

Either way, I am an excellent helper.

I am able to take ALL the screwdrivers out of Grandpa’s tool belt, and he hadn’t even asked for them yet.

I learned how to turn on the flashlight,

and turn it off,

and turn it back on,

and turn it off,

and turn it back on.

I was getting really good at that when Mom took it away.

Now I have to go to bed.

I am tired and my parents are tired.

That is moving.

It is exciting but it does make you tired.
