THE ADVENTURES OF JJ PICKLETOES

There seem to be a lot of boxes. 

Why would we need so many boxes? 

There are boxes all over the place,

I can hardly walk around here with so many boxes. 

I can hardly walk anywhere, so the boxes aren’t really the problem. 

I may not be the best walker that you know, but I am really good at taking the tape off of boxes. 

This looks like interesting tape.

My Mom puts the tape on the boxes. 

 Then as soon as she walks away, I   come over and pull the tape off. 

This is an important job, taking the tape off. 

It is almost as important as putting the tape on. 

That is why duct tape was invented. 

In 1943, Vesta Stoudt, a mother of two men in the US Army wrote a letter to President Franklin D. Roosevelt suggesting to use a fabric backed to tape to seal ammunition boxes so that the boxes could be opened easily and quickly in the field. 

Little did Vesta Stoudt know the frustration that would cause my parents,

because this type of tape is easy for me to take off as well.

I know now why there are so many boxes all over our place. 

Our place isn’t very big so maybe it looks like there are more boxes than there really are, even so there are a lot of boxes. 

There are a lot of boxes with tape on the top and the bottom. 

I heard my parents saying that as soon as they fill the boxes, they have to tape the boxes shut.  

To keep me from taking the things back out.

I am just trying to help. 

.

Grandpa says that I am his big helper. 

.

AND SOME OF THE THINGS IN THE BOXES ARE MINE.

Mom and Dad told me not to worry about my things in the boxes. 

They are going to be moving them. .

On Saturday. 

.

Saturday.  

.

You mean Saturday, as in tomorrow? 

That’s right. Tomorrow. 

.

On Saturday, some of my parents friends from church and some cousins are coming over to help them move. 

A fellow that couldn’t physically help bought some frozen pizzas to feed the work crew. 

That seems very generous. 

There will lots of people to help and there will be two trailers, it shouldn’t take long to move. 

Many hands make light work.

So they say.

I will go with Mom and Grandma to the new house to help with unpacking. 

That just seems to make sense because I am really good at taking the tape off the boxes.  

 As you know, I have been practicing.

Where is this new house that we have bought and are moving in to? 

.

I don’t know. 

I should know by next week though.
