THE ADVENTURES OF JJ PICKLETOES

I had been searching for it for a long time. 

Do you know what it is like to have been searching and searching for something and then finally you find it? 

Your keys. 

Your phone. 

Remember the old days when you could just follow the cord until you found your phone? 

And now here it is right in my hand.

You are correct.

I should be out looking for the Crown Jewels of France. 

 The jewels that were stolen from Louvre, the tiaras, the necklaces, the brooches, 

 the stolen jewels worth over $100 million dollars. 

I should be looking for them, perhaps there is a reward for finding them? 

.

In 1911 The Mona Lisa was stolen from the Louvre as well. 

They found that 2 years later and I wasn’t even there to help. 

.

I have been told that I am a good helper. 

.

Now let me tell you what I have found. 

I had been looking through all the kitchen draws,  

all the ones that I could reach. 

And, there it was, deep inside the miscellaneous drawer. 

.

You know the drawer. 

The one that nobody is allowed to open when you have company. 

.

A place no one would suspect it to be. 

I had to remove a lot of things to get to it. 

I don’t think grandma will mind me helping her organize this drawer. It was quite a mess. 

Sometimes you have to take everything out and start from scratch. 

.

There it was. 

.

The famed Idaho potato cup. 

I don’t know why it is so famous?

 Maybe it is only famous to me? 

But I knew it was a cup, because it had a handle on it. 

If it didn’t have a handle on it, it would be a tumbler. 

“A cup is a vessel that typically has a handle.” Oxford’s words, not mine. 

.

It was a tricky clue, a clue that a boy like me doesn’t miss. 

.

Maybe I should work for MI6, like Elizabeth in the Thursday Murder Club movie?  

.

I am glad that I had been watching mystery shows like Ms. Rachel to hone my detective skills. 

After this great find, do you think I should change my name?

Indiana Pickletoes? 

JJ Holmes? 

Jeffrey Poirot? 

Inspector JJ Cousau? 

.
