If you are on the top of it.
They call it, “The Channel.”
If you go under it,
they call it “The Chunnel”.
You know what I am talking about.
The English Channel.
There have been 2,428 crossings of the English Channel by 1,881 different people.
I am talking about swimming across.
The first solo crossing was in 1875 by Captain Mathew Webb.
The youngest person to swim across solo was 11 years old,
Until now.
I have just started training.
You have to be able to swim in cold water if you want to swim across The Channel and Grandpa says this is cold water.
It is only 25c.
I guess that is cold,
if you are old like my Grandpa.
Grandma thinks 25c is fine, she isn’t as old as Grandpa.
I am a good swimmer, and I am just getting better.
My Mom is a good swimmer,
it was actually the only sport that she really liked.
She had a tough start, but with the help of a tough teacher she got through it.
It takes 12 –18 months of training to prepare to swim across The Channel.
I am almost there,
I have been training every summer of my life.
I can now swim one or two strokes,

when I am held,
so, I should be able to swim the 33 kilometers anytime soon.
You know what they say, “Nothing Great is Easy.”
Actually, more people have climbed Mount Everest than have swam across The English Channel.
Even less people have read the Blog.
If you have read my Blog, you are in an elite group.
You are more unique than people who own their own jet airplane.
You are even more rare than the people that have swam across The English Channel.
I think it would be easier just to take The Chunnel across from England to France.
That is probably why 500 million people have crossed The English Channel through the Chunnel.
It only takes 2 hours and 16 minutes to go from London to Paris through The Chunnel.
It takes 1 hour and 20 minutes to fly from London to Paris.
It takes 7 to 27 hours to swim the English Channel plus the time to get to London and Paris.
How would you prefer to cross The English Channel?
I would like to fly, you see more, you go faster, and you don’t have to get cold and wet.
Remember to subscribe to my Blog so that you don’t miss out on any of my adventures.
