THE ADVENTURES OF JJ PICKLETOES

Most people don’t like change. 

Am I right? 

It seems the older people get, the less they like change. 

So far, I like change. 

In fact, my friends, the ones around my age really like change. 

We like to change several times a day. 

Or should I say to be changed, several times a day. 

Seems like the same thing to me. 

I know it isn’t. 

Back to change. 

Even us kids are affected by change. 

At our house it is different now. 

My Mom and Dad were home every day for the last several months, but now my Dad is back working.  

He is working long hours, so I don’t see him every day and I am used to seeing him almost all day every day. 

I am just going to have to deal with it. 

It is like that for lots of kids and spouses. 

Farmers, pool technicians, greenhouse workers, and many other seasonal people. 

It is because we only have 2 nice months a year to do most of our outside work and enjoy the summer. 

I wonder if Grandpa is right about moving to Italy or Ecuador? 

He probably is. 

Anyway, since Dad is back working, I am helping around the house more. 

I am taking over the “man of the house” role. 

I am helping Mom make a cake, I probably would have helped her even if Dad was home. 

It looks like I am standing on the counter to help but you know that wouldn’t be proper.
