THE ADVENTURES OF JJ PICKLETOES

Exactly.  

What am I going to wear? 

There seems to be this buzz in the air around me these last few weeks. 

You know when you can feel a buzz in the air. 

You can just feel it. 

I can feel it. 

I am not really sure what it is about but let me tell you what I know. 

Firstly, my mom met some of the girls at a store. 

It looked kind of boring to me, just a bunch of dresses. 

They all stood around and oohed and aahed, until mom rang some sort of bell. 

Secondly, my dad went with Grandpa to another store, this one seemed better. 

It had men’s clothes in it, nice clothes. 

Clothes that like I might wear someday, but not today or probably tomorrow. 

You know what they say. 

Wait, what do they say? 

When you are wearing nice clothes, you feel better about yourself. 

If you buy some clothes that make you feel like a million bucks, that is a great investment. 

It seems like that is true, I saw my dad all dressed up and he was smiling, I could tell he felt like a million bucks. 

And he looked good. 

Just like a guy that was about to get married, but not for a few months. 

I heard them talking, 

my parents, of course. 

Something about Grandma going to some shop with lots of dresses and on her second trip she found something very nice to wear. 

Grandpa as well, he didn’t go to the dress shop. 

He went to one like dad, a men’s shop as well. 

He is the one who told me about clothes.  

 You just don’t wear any clothes, you should wear the clothes that make you look and feel great. 

But now I have to ask. 

What is the occasion? 

What about me? 

Do I get to go to a big kid shop and find some clothes? 

Not just any clothes, but ones that will make me look and feel great. 

Like I am wearing now. 

Only with socks.

I know that when I look good, and I smell good then I feel good. 

I also know that I look good , and I feel good, I just don’t always smell good. 

That will change.

I know I shouldn’t worry about these things, but I do.
