It sure has gone by fast.
It seems like only yesterday I was at home sleeping, most of the night, in my own crib.
Not the HipHop Crib, Place of residence, esp. for a home boy from the hood, but my own crib where I sleep.
The one with sides on it that keep me from rolling all over the place.
Last night was Christmas night. My parents and I were staying at my grandparents. I thought I would go to bed on time just like usual but then I thought I would get up around 2 and stay up until 4.
Then can you imagine?
I was handed off to my grandparents. I guess I was keeping them awake anyway.
Do you know what they did?
They took me downstairs, to the basement.
The basement, can you imagine?
Do you know what they did to me?
They held me and rocked me for more than an hour and then,
they put me down on the floor, the basement floor.
I had to sleep on the floor.
Well, on the soft carpet, wrapped in a soft fuzzy blanket,
It was pretty nice,
for me.
Maybe not for the people who were sleeping on each couch downstairs or my parents sleeping upstairs.
If I did my math correct, they didn’t get to sleep until 5ish.
I don’t know why they all stayed awake so late.
It was my Christmas present to them, time, quality time.
Isn’t that one of the love languages?
So, this is my question for today.
I heard someone ask a similar question on Sunday.
Do you think there was no crying in the manager in Bethlehem so many years ago?
What about the old Hymn Silent Night?
I am wondering if that applies to me?
I didn’t think it applied to me this Christmas night, maybe next year.
Don’t you have more questions as you get older?
This is my first Christmas and my last adventure for this year.
I hope that you had a Merry Christmas and an adventurous year.
