Yes, I did, I went there, it’s very far away but I had to go.
Other people have gone so I thought I should go as well.
What could go wrong. This time, nothing did.
Just because other people have gone, doesn’t mean that I should go, but you have to think about these things.
This trip seemed like a good idea and my parents took me so it should be fine.
And it was.
There was a short line up, but it was scenic.
A walk through the forest.
There was a nice trail through the snow, the branches on the evergreen trees were loaded with snow, and the deer stood motionless almost out of site.
Almost as if they weren’t real.
We finally got to the end of the trail.
There were a few people ahead of us, but not many.
Finally, it was our turn.
We rounded the corner and there he was.
You know.
Santa Clause.
It was him alright, I had never seen him before, but I knew it was him.
The red suit, the black boots and who could forget the big white bread.
He was eating a sandwich. Corned beef I think.
He also had a big white beard.
That’s how I knew it was him.
I got to sit on his knee and my parents sat on each side because they thought that I would be scared, and I probably was, a little.
We talked for a few moments and then we had to go.
My parents both got candy canes which I thought should have been mine.
I did the talking after all
You know parents and their” You’re not old enough” line, here it came again.
That was a nice little adventure.
Lots of people have different things to say about Santa Clause.
It is a nice tradition no matter your belief.
Isn’t that the good thing about it.
It is a nice thing, so why not enjoy it.
I know I did.
