THE ADVENTURES OF JJ PICKLETOES

I guess I am not going there, now. 

I wasn’t sure that I was ready to go there, but now I can’t go there for sure. 

My parents say it is for my own safety. 

Is it? 

Is it really? 

Have you ever wanted to do something and then someone, like your parents, said that you shouldn’t, it isn’t safe? 

Now what do you want to do? 

Exactly. 

I didn’t give much thought to it, before it went up. 

 Now I wonder what is so exciting down there that I can’t go. 

I know that I am moving around more, I am not crawling yet, but my arms and legs are moving like crazy. I just need a little more grip. 

But when it comes to rolling around, I am your man. 

The man. 

Anyway, back to it. 

Dad and Grandpa installed it. 

It was quite a project for them as well, because they didn’t want to drill holes in the wall to fasten it, and the other side was a glass rail. 

They figured it out, and now I am stuck at the top of the stairs. 

That is right, they installed a baby gate. 

I didn’t even want to go down the stairs until there was a gate and now I can’t. 

Now I am wondering what is down there and how am I going to get there. 

I know it is for my own safety, but doesn’t it make you wonder? 

What is something that someone wouldn’t let you do, “for your own safety.”
