Were they really prepared?
Are we ever totally prepared?
We may think we are prepared for things like motherhood or fatherhood, death or birth.
But are we prepared for this?
A power outage.
My parents thought that they were prepared and so did I.
We both weren’t as prepared as we thought.
Sure, it is easy to go to bed for the night and to go to sleep when the power is out, when you don’t need the lights anyway.
You can visit with your siblings and friends in the dark, you can even charge your cell phone. If you have a power bank.
Here is one thing that nobody has thought of.
Have you ever got your diaper changed in the dark or had your late night snack, in the dark.
It isn’t as easy as you would think.
I have a friend,
who might have peed when he was getting his diaper changed, he probably thought that his diaper was on or even close, but it wasn’t.
I, I mean my friend, also maybe did a number two before the diaper was in place.
Again, it was dark it really wasn’t his fault.
Sometimes, **it happens.
How was he to know, there wasn’t enough light to tell for sure.
I hope that someone gets my parents another emergency light for my room, so that mom and dad can see better if the power goes off again.
Grandpa gave my parents an emergency light for the hall as a house warming gift, but I guess it wasn’t enough.
That is his go to house warming gift because he thinks it is interesting and useful.
He is really quite thoughtful when it comes to gifts.
Well, Grandpa, I think my parents need another one.
Christmas is coming.
What is something that you thought you were prepared for but weren’t.
