NEW SHOES, ALMOST EPISODE 6

NEW SHOES, ALMOST

I finally got a new pair of shoes.

I didn’t think that I had worn out a pair already, but I guess that I did.

My grandpa says that he once wore just one shoe to school.

The teacher asked him if he had lost a shoe on the way to school and he replied,

 “No, ma’am, I found one.”

Times were harder for my grandpas than they are for me.

My mom says that she was feeding cows when before she could walk but there is only proof of her feeding the cows after she learned to walk.

Here is her proof. That’s my mom, working at such a young age.

Sometimes I think that my parents and grandparents stretch the truth, but I can’t be sure.

Back to my new shoes.

Isn’t that a song by Paolo Nutini?

Here is the link to the video.

That is a cool song.

Sorry I get distracted, but you know I am just a baby.

Today I got a new pair of knit wool slippers with leather soles. They are cool, or warm however you want to say it.

I got them from my grandpa.

Do you know where he got them?

From his dad.

Do you know where grandpa’s dad got them?

From his grandpa, he really got them from his aunt Ethel, but she got them from her dad.

I better make that a little clearer for some people.

These slippers were knit in Scotland for my, great great grandfather Adam Currie when he was born.

In 1851.

These slippers are 173 years old. That is truly amazing. One day I will be old enough to appreciate that,

For now, I just hope that they keep my feet warm when mom and dad take me for walks.

There was also a furish hat for me that has kept a lot of people’s head warm before mine.

It isn’t quite as old, but it must be 100 years old if it is 80.

Here is a picture of my hat and new slippers.

I hope that I will be able to make something that will last 100 years.

I am wondering what are we doing or making that people will use in 100 years or maybe longer?

Leave me a comment about what you have made that is going to be passed down through the generations.
